CUSTOM MANUFACTURING

Your drawing.
The next real part.

Bring the geometry and the requirements. Start a technical review for a project-specific machining quote.

A useful quote starts
with a clear drawing.

Include the current revision and identify the dimensions that determine fit. Material, quantity, finish, and inspection requirements all help define the manufacturing scope.

  • 3D geometry and a dimensioned drawing, where available
  • Material grade or application requirements
  • Order quantity and delivery destination
  • Critical fits, threads, surfaces, and inspection needs

CHOOSE THE REQUIREMENT BEFORE THE PROCESS

What needs to be right?

FeatureUseful informationWhy it matters
Fitted boreMating part, fit and toleranceDetermines the relationship between components
Mounting patternDatum, positions and thread detailsHelps the part line up with the assembly
Visible surfaceFinish and appearance expectationsSeparates cosmetic needs from functional surfaces
MaterialGrade, environment and loadGuides material and process selection

Available processes, achievable tolerances, quantities, and timing are confirmed during the project review.

Before sending
your drawing.

What should I include in a quote request?

The drawing revision, material or material requirements, quantity, destination, and important fit or finish requirements. If something is undecided, say so; it can be resolved during the technical review.

Do I need tight tolerances on every dimension?

Identify the features that control fit or function. Discuss the remaining dimensions during review so inspection and manufacturing effort are focused where they matter.

How are design changes handled?

A geometry, material, or quantity change can affect both cost and manufacturing. Confirm the revised drawing and quotation before authorizing the next stage.
